Creative Use of Materials and Constructional Play Opportunities

Fun use of materials stimulate creative play while developing motor skills, self-confidence and independent learning.  Inspiring use of common materials are used throughout the H5K Adventures.  Fine motor skills are enhanced when kids play with construction toys which stimulates spatial reasoning, ideation, motor skills, self-confidence and independent learning. 

Constructional Play activities are also included in many adventures to enhance spatial reasoning, ideation and creativity that involve building and constructing with materials that are provided in the kit.  Some building activities may include a visual image for extra clarification. 

Refer to the Target Skills Checklist on pages 8-9 under Constructional Play Act. to see which adventures incorporate a constructional play activity.  Look for the "house" icon on the Tour Guide Directions for easy reference.
